Paxo... In the island that was created by the love of Poseidon to Amfitriti, between the green-silver of the age-long olive trees and the turquoise-blue of the open sea, there is villa Contessina. One kilometer far from the old port of Gaios and very close to the beach villa contessina was designed according to the Ionian-island architectural style and was build from the stones digged out of the hill that hosts it.

Four quiet rooms traditionally furnished with unique atmosphere, offer an illimitable view of the Ionian Sea from their private verandas, breakfast and all modern provisions (bathroom, refrigerator, air-conditioning, plasma tv and internet). A fully equipped large kitchen, in the ground floor, is available to the residents.

Sweet, silvery Paxos is the smallest of the Ionian islands – just seven miles long and three wide – and lies some ten miles to the south of Corfu and nine miles from the mainland. Many return to Paxos each year: drawn back by its magical small-island charm, pretty villages, thickly-wooded landscape, and white-pebble coves lapped by the clearest of seas. The population of Paxos is 2,500. Most live in the three main seaside villages of Lakka, Loggos and Gaios, the capital. Each has its own distinct character and charm.
