Located in Chalikounas, Corfu, the villa is a family enterprise. The beautiful plot of land on which it stands, overlooking the Ionian Sea, was purchased in 2004, and since then we have invested much hard work and enthusiasm in completing the projec.
Chalikounas Corfu villa reflects our own desire to have a high-quality holiday destination all year round, our love of Corfu and our familiarity with the island, and the need we identified in many of our friends and acquaintances for personalized vacations. To meet these needs we were inspired to create a place built with respect for the natural environment, a place where we would be the hosts and you our guests.

One can see from the first glance that this is a really special place. Visible from a great distance, standing as it does on the highest ground in the area, it offers an imposing sight, built in the traditional style using stone and old bricks, with wooden ceilings and tile roofs, the timber exposed to the interior – all blending harmoniously into the natural setting. On one side the sea and lagoon, on the other the mountain and olive groves. Spacious verandas, one looking east and one west, affording fabulous views of the sun setting into the waters of the Ionian Sea, transforming both sea and sky into an astonishing range of colours.

On ground floor level to the south of the building is the swimming pool. The pool enjoys views over the lagoon and the great expanse of sea. It is fairly large, about 80 square metres, with a pleasant surrounding area laid with pebbles. There are ample wooden recliners for sunbathing and relaxation. Next to the pool is the outdoor dining space and a little farther off a barbecue area for those wishing to try their hand at grilled foods.
Two external stairways, one on each side of the house, lead down to a lower area where there is a separate studio. This can accommodate another two guests, with all the usual amenities, or can be used as staff accommodation if so desired. A large veranda with a surface area of more than 200 square meters provides an additional al fresco dining space, a sitting area and a childrens play space

CHALIKOUNAS villa interior
As you approach the surrounding stone wall CHALIKOUNAS villa you will have your first opportunity to enjoy the amazing views.
The large gateway, operated by remote control, ensures privacy and leads into the inner courtyard. We are now at the ground floor level, where the garden and pool are located. We enter the house by a large space accommodating the sitting room, with open hearth, and dining area. Four huge French windows offer a superb view over the sea and provide easy access to the pool on the southern side of the house. The same area also accommodates the kitchen, equipped with state-of-the-art dishwasher, microwave oven, coffee machine, toaster, etc.
On the same level and on the eastern side of the house there are two bedrooms. The first has two large windows looking over the olive grove and towards the northern coast of the island. It has a double bed, which can be divided into two singles if desired, and which is equipped with electric motors to lift either end – raising the level of head or feet for greater comfort. The room also boasts an antique wooden wardrobe and special unit for satellite TV, with a small sound system. The en suite bathroom is comfortable, decorated in earth colours and equipped with a shower and hydro-massage stall.
The second bedroom has a large balcony door leading directly out to the pool. The colour scheme is a combination of blues and whites. The room has a similar bed to that described above, plus satellite TV and sound system. The bathroom is also decorated in blue and white and has a bathtub and large window with a view over the lagoon.
On the same level there is also a WC and a stairway leading up to the next level.
Ascending the stairs we find ourselves in a space with a surface area of about 70 square metres. This is essentially an independent suite: a sitting area, a fireplace, a hydro-massage bathtub, a mini bar, a 42'' satellite TV and home cinema, an antique bed and a massage armchair. There is a trap door at the top of the stairs which can be used to seal off this area from the rest of the house.
All around the walls there are large windows and two large balcony doors leading to the two verandas. One of these is 40 square metres in surface area and looks east towards the olive trees; the other is slightly smaller and has a view of the sea and the setting sun. The bathroom is decorated in pale pink and has a second hydro-massage stall. It also enjoys a fantastic view.
