Between Aghios Stefanos and Kassiopi, Avlaki is a popular weekend retreat for islanders, but remains largely undiscovered by overseas visitors despite its obvious appeal. This delightfully tranquil area lies around a curving bay of clear blue water, enclosed at either end by tree-clad hills and fringed by a long white shingle and pebble beach. A snack bar and a couple of tavernas serving traditional Greek cuisine provide all that Avlaki has to offer by way of amenities, but it's only a short drive or a twenty minute walk to the more varied amenities of its neighbouring resorts.
